Emma Jean Parham, 90, of Paducah, formerly of Cairo, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah.Emma was born on Dec. 29, 1933, in Cairo to Mose and Lena (McClure) Lang. She married Bill Thistlewood Sr., and he preceded her in death. Emma then married Tommy Parham, who also preceded her in death.Emma was a graduate of Cairo High School. She worked many years at the bowling alley and skating rink in Cairo. Emma later worked at the Silica Plant Illinois Mineral in Elco. She loved square dancing and taught herself to play the piano and the guitar. Emma enjoyed her pool and the sun and was a member of Social Society that had fundraisers for many events. She was a member of Tigert Methodist Church and was the secretary there for many years.Emma is survived by her sons, Billy (Phyllis) Thistlewood, and Larry (Dorothy) Thistlewood; grandson, Kaelin (Brittany) Thistlewood; granddaughter, Tia (Bryan) Wheatley; great-grandson, Brayden Thistlewood; nieces, nephews
